Food Handler Tests, Vital Records Services Available in Morgan County
Health department offers new onsite services to residents

Morgan County residents can now obtain a food handler’s permit or pick up birth and death certificates without traveling into Ogden. Weber-Morgan health officials are set up to offer these services in addition to immunizations and WIC nutritional counseling at its new Morgan County office, 236 E. Young Street.
Anyone who works in the food industry is required to have a food handler’s permit which includes passing a short food-safety test administered by health department officials. Self-study guides are available on the health department’s website www.webermorganhealth.org/food_handlers.php . Interested parties should bring a government issued photo I.D. to the testing facility. Cost is $10. To schedule a test, call 801-399-7160.
Morgan residents can also obtain birth and death records while they wait. The new services include not only records from Weber and Morgan Counties but for any birth or death record issued in Utah since 1952. Cost is $15 for birth certificates, $13 for death certificates. Additional copies of either item are $8. Customers should plan to pay by check or bring exact cash amount. Those needing to amend a record will need to come to the Ogden office, 477 23rd Street. Must bring proof of identification or prove a familial relationship to request a record.
